I'm not sure if anyone still read this, but in a couple of days raginghormonesmusic.com will be no more. You will still be able to access this website through the old address: http://raginghormonesska.tripod.com if you are interested.

4 of us have formed a new band that's been practicing and writing songs since June. I will post a link to our website, when it becomes available. Shows start in the end of September.

Friday June 24th, 2005

THE END...

We played our final show a couple of days ago at the Warped Tour in Kansas City.  Thanks to the people who watched us.  And a huge thanks to all the people who have supported us over the last 2 1/2 years.  We really appreciate.  Also thanks to all the bands/venues/merch/people who helped us out.

Anthony, Brook, Chris, and Aaron have formed a new band with singer Jessie Fetterling.  It's not ska, but more or less rock with horns.  We'll be playing shows by the fall hopefully.  I'll post more if anything happens.

Once again

Thank you,

Raging Hormones

Tues June 7th, 2005

Well I have a mix of good and bad news.

Bad News:
Due to some problems, we have had to cancel all of our remaining shows.  We might still be playing Warped Tour (I hope so).  I'll keep you posted.  I'm really sorry.  We didn't want to go out this way (canceling tons of shows), it's very sad, but we have no control.

Good News:
June 16th - we will be doing a reunion show.  For the long time fans, remember over a year ago when we were like an 8 piece band that played mostly covers and had a male singer?  Well we're getting all those members together for a reunion show.  It'll be featuring:

*Jordan Baranowski - vocals
*Jake Acosta - guitar
*Brook Partain - bass
*Andrew Blobaum - trumpet
*Brian Smith - trumpet
*Colin Brainard - trombone
*Brian Lewis-Jones - trombone
*Greg Slovick - keyboards
*Chris Brower - drums
and possibly more!

We'll be playing a ton of the old covers we used to play including ones by The Aquabats, Reel Big Fish, Ben Folds Five, and more.  It should be fun.

Thurs June 16th @ Blackdog Coffeehouse - Free - 7pm

See you there

Friday May 27th, 2005

I've put up a couple of new shows and also taken down a couple.  We won't be able to make it up to Council Bluffs, IA tomorrow night, and our show in Oklahoma got canceled because a tree destroyed the venue (a venue that is a castle..hmmm).  But anyway there are some cool shows to close out Raging Hormones including a show with one of our favorite bands, B-Team, a show with like 6 or  7 other bands in Des Moines, and our final show will be (weird enough) Warped Tour.  These will be the last times you can hear classics such as "Change In Weather" and "Rain Soaked Memory", so don't miss out!

But in all seriousness, Warped Tour this year is looking pretty good.  There's a good variety including 2 other ska bands, I Voted 4 Kodos (who we played with like 2 years ago) and Big D and The Kids Table who are a good time, especially because last time I saw them I requested "She Won't Ever Figure It Out" and they played it.  They're also probably the hardest working ska band, so go see them.  Some other bands include: The Offspring, My Chemical Romance, Senses Fail, Dropkick Murphys, and Thrice.  Thrice wins a special award, because I was dumb enough to tell their lead singer at Warped Tour 2 years ago that I was in a band called Raging Hormones.  That was met with much laughter.

I'll be posting some stuff about the new band Anthony, Brook, Aaron, and I are starting soon when I know more. Songs are being written and auditions are being had.  I can tell you, it won't be ska, but instead horn filled pop rock (that hopefully doesn't suck too much).  Not exactly skanking music, but I think it'll be more of a variety and hopefully more creative too.  It'll be none of the songs Raging Hormones did.

Hope to see you at one of these last shows!  Thanks.

"The End Is The Beginning Is The End" - Smashing Pumpkins

Well I'm expecting tons of crying, but yes Raging Hormones are breaking up.  Lindsay is going to school in Colorado, and  Brian is leaving due to other interests.  So rather than finding new people (the 18th and 19th persons to be in this band), the remaining 4 of us have decided to start a completely new band with a name that hopefully doesn't suck as much (I mean come on, Raging Hormones...sheesh).  We've grown up and matured as musicians, so it'd be nice to have a name that doesn't make 8 year olds laugh.  It'll be more of the same stuff, but with hopefully more of a variety.  We'll be auditioning singers and trombone players soon (if you play either one and are over the age of 18...email us if you want to tryout: routetonowhere@hotmail.com

So needless to say we have a ton of merch left over.  Please buy it.  Our t-shirts could make a nice home for your dog or you could use it to wash your car.  We don't care.  Plenty of stickers and buttons are left.  And a few CDs are left.  So please buy them.  I'm pretty sure "Sunrise Over Memory Lane" will be winning a grammy for "best Kansas pop ska album", so you'll want your copy.

But seriously thanks to all the people who have supported us over the years and helped us play about 90 shows in 9 different states.  We have 5 shows left and June 10th is the final show.  A few months after that the new group should debut and we can't wait.

Thank you!

Saturday April 16th, 2005

Well last night's show was a ton of fun.  Thanks for the support.  We won the first round of the battle of the bands at Groundwork Coffeehouse so we'll be playing in the semi-finals on May 6th.  We decided to reschedule the April 28th show also at Groundworks for a different time due to several conflicts, so that'll probably be in June.  Our next show is Tuesday April 26th at the Rockhurst University Battle Of The Bands (about the 7,914th battle of the bands we've played), but if we win we get to open for Gavin Degraw and hot girls like him, so we need to play that.  So please come out and vote for us if you can.

The big news is you can now buy our CD online.  Thanks Brooksie for mailing the CDs in and buying the 11 stamps to do so.  Buy it here - http://www.interpunk.com/item.cfm?Item=60349&

Sunday April 10th, 2005

Rock For Hope was a lot of fun.  Thanks for coming out.  There's some photos here - http://www.xanga.com/item.aspx?user=atbdrummer&tab=weblogs&uid=239667184, none of us playing, but just some I took.  Maybe you'll see yourself.

We had to cancel this Saturday's show in Springfield.  I'm sorry, but we'll make it up soon.  We'll see you soon.

Monday April 4th, 2005

This Friday = Rock For Hope at Shawnee Mission West (8500 Antioch, Overland Park, KS).  The show starts at 7pm and is $5.  That day we'll be picking up brand new t-shirts plus buttons so bring about 1000 dollars and buy it all....please.

A bunch of shows are coming up, so come on out if you're bored.  We've been debuting a lot of new songs.  Good stuff.  See you at the shows.

Saturday Mar 26th, 2005

We will NOT be playing the Blackdog show tonight. Sorry.

A bunch of new shows have been added.  We'll be returning to Springfield, MO in April and in a couple of weeks we're playing a Battle Of The Bands at Blackdog Coffeehouse.

If we stop being lazy, the CD will for sale online in the next month or so.

That's about it, please visit our My Space page - www.myspace.com/raginghormones

I'm curious, does anyone actually read this page? (the news...well or anything on our website).  If you do, leave us a comment on our guestbook.  I'm really interested to find out.

Saturday Mar 5th, 2005

We've added some new shows and many more are in the works, so check the shows to the right.
We've discovered a new love and that is performing acoustic.  Every now and then we'll be playing some acoustic shows in Lawrence, just for fun.  All shows listed are normal electric shows, we'll let you know if we have any acoustic ones planned.

We have a million websites now, please check these out:
www.purevolume.com/raginghormones
www.myspace.com/raginghormones
http://battle.ernieball.com/battlebak/bb9/bands/raginghormones/

So there's only about 6,000 places you can hear 2 or 3 of our songs online and then please come to the shows and buy the CD and maybe a sticker, and like 10 shirts because we're poor.  Thanks.

Sunday Feb 20th, 2005
We played 3 fun shows this weekend.  Our CD is now available at our shows for $6 (yep, not $8 anymore).  Please buy one if you have a chance.  Also, we want to say a special thanks to 2 Fingers 2 Freedom for inviting us to perform at their last show.  We love those guys, and will miss hearing their sweet sounds at all of our Omaha shows.

We now have a myspace page - www.myspace.com/raginghormones - so add us.

Thurs Feb 10th, 2005

THE NEW CD IS DONE!
We have finally finished our debut CD, "Sunrise Over Memory Lane".  It'll be at our upcoming shows for $8.  Please listen to 3 new songs - www.purevolume.com/raginghormones

Thurs Jan 13th, 2005

Wow I guess it's been a long time.  The biggest news is we've finished recording all 11 songs for our CD.  We're just going through the never-ending mixing process and then it'll be done.  Hopefully it'll be out by February.   The CD will be titled "Sunrise Over Memory Lane".

Also we have a big show this next Friday Jan 21st @ Shawnee Mission Northwest.  It's Jamnesty which was a big event we played last year.  And once again it should be great with some super good bands playing.  Brook (bass) is in like 4,000 other bands which will be playing at this thing so come and watch him.  Starts at 5pm and is $5.  All the details are to the right.  Also a great show on Jan 31st @ El Torreon with one of the most diverse lineups.  If you come you'll see: ska, power pop, indie, emo, punk, and RAP.  Yes, this is the first show we've played with a rap group.  Sweetness.

See you then.

Thurs Dec 23rd, 2004

A bunch of stuff has been going on.  First, we played a really fun show in Norman, OK at Buzz's Subs last weekend.  Thanks to the Ceiling Tiles, Third Grade Scuffle, Gianna, and Boston (a girl, not the 70s rock legends) for making it a fun and memorable time.  We'll be back there soon enough.

We have also made a ton of progress into recording our full length CD which will have 11 songs.  We should be done with that in January and it will hopefully be out sometime around then.  Photos from recording: PHOTOS

You can also see we've added a lot of shows.  And brand new stickers will be here in a few weeks.

Sunday Dec 5th, 2004

Fri Dec 10th's show @ The Straycat has been canceled.  This Friday we are entering the studio to record our first full length.  More details on that soon enough.

Sunday Nov 28th, 2004

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving break.  As you might have noticed, a ton of new shows have been added.  I'm working on 2-3 more, so the list should be pretty full soon enough.  I wanted to point out that former Raging Hormones guitar Jake Acosta and our first bass player Sean Keenan are now in a great band that I honestly really like.  Their name is Brunette (http://www.myspace.com/brunette).  Listen to "Let Me In".  You'll see what I'm saying.

I've noticed recently a lot of bands we've shared the stage with have broken up or on hiatuses.  So I just wanted to take a moment to mention these bands.  Thanks guys for playing shows with us and good luck with everything in the future.  I'm sure I'll leave a couple out (simply because we don't know of every band that breaks up).

*8th Wave
*Arrogant Sons Of Bitches (hiatus)
*Breaking Fall
*Envious
*Gametime
*Noise Ratchet
*Pavilions
*Shade Seven
*State Of Confusion
*Swabbies
*Tad Williams Quartet
*Welton

Saturday Nov 20th, 2004

Thursday's show at Gaslight Tavern was a lot of fun.  Lost 80 (www.lost80.com) was great and one of the nicest bands we've ever played with.  We'll be setting some more shows up with them hopefully, so everyone can get a chance to see them.  Not much else is going on.  We start recording our first full length on Dec 10th.

Sunday Nov 14th, 2004

A ton of updates to the website.  First of all Saturday Nov 20th's show, we will no longer be playing at.  Shucks.  But still about 4 shows on the show calendar right now all over the place and hopefully more to come.  In other news, I found an article written about Anthony Smith (trumpet), about his perfect score on the SAT.  Just proves that when we're not practicing we're hitting the books - READ HERE.  Special thanks to our new friend Stephan, for filling in for Anthony at this last Friday's show.  Great job.

BRAND NEW PHOTOS of the new lineup are on the photos page.  Enjoy.

Sunday Nov 7th, 2004

Friday's show at Blackdog was one of the best shows we've played so far with the new lineup.  Thanks to all the people that came out and especially those who bought t-shirts.  In some sad news the Texas tour is looking less likely because of a lack of transportation, so again if anyone can help us out with a van or car, we'd gladly pay you.

In some good news, we just booked a show for Sat Nov 20th @ the Jackpot Saloon in Lawrence.  It's a benefit for "Environs" an environmental group at KU.  Should be fun and a good time.  That show is 18 and over.

Sunday Oct 31st, 2004

Happy Halloween.  On Friday the 29th we played in Omaha, NE and that was great.  Thanks to our friends in 2 Fingers 2 Freedom and West Of Reality.  2 great bands that make us feel very welcome when we come up there.  We debuted 2 new songs, plus a new version of an old one on Friday which went well.  We have a bunch of shows coming up that we hope to see you at.  This Friday is a FREE show at Blackdog Coffeehouse with another Lawrence-area ska band, B-Team.  Should be fun.  As you might see we're starting to setup our Texas tour.  The main problem right now is transportation.  If anyone has a van, car, or trailer we could borrow that'd be amazing and we'd pay you back in anyway (money, free shirts, name all our songs after you, etc...).  Please please help us out if you can.  E-mail us at: routetonowhere@hotmail.com

Monday Oct 25th, 2004

A quick update.  As you can see to the right we have booked a lot of shows.  We're still looking for some help on the Texas tour, Dec 18th-22nd if anyone could help us out.  But anyway, we return to Omaha this Friday with our friends in West Of Reality and 2 Fingers 2 Freedom, so I hope to see you there.  Plenty of other great shows coming up including some with ska/horn-rock bands such as B-Team, Lost 80, and more.  Hope to see you soon.
